Apprenticeship as Paint Laboratory Assistant

Duration: 3 ½ years, as from August 1, 2011
Location: Offenbach am Main

SCHRAMM Coatings develop and produce paints for the automotive, general and electric industries,as well as coil coatings and powder paints.

Just imagine, there are a half a million formulas for paint production in Germany. And every year, a great number are amended, improved or replaced by new products.

The experts in the laboratory therefore need to be aware of many facts. Is the substrate made of metal, wood or plastic? Which techniques should be used to apply the paint? What elements must the paint withstand? What shades are required? What legal requirements and regulations must be complied with? Can solvent based paints be replaced by environmentally-friendly paints in this case?

Such questions form an important role in a Paint Laboratory Assistant´s work.

A Paint Laboratory Assistant´s responsibilities include product development, testing techniques, production preparations and application technology.
